The Optics and Photonics International Congress (OPIC) is co-organized with the Optics and Photonics International Exhibition (OPIE), bringing together researchers and developers from around the world to discuss the science and industry of optics and photonics. Held annually, its purpose is to showcase state-of-the-art achievements and disseminate guidelines for a future society enabled by science and technology.
During the conference, one of our consortium members presented the research on Cr4+:YAG laser ceramics:

Abstract: The kinetics of Cr4+ formation was studied by annealing of Cr,Ca:YAG ceramics in ambient air under different temperatures at different times, resulting in the transformation of Cr3+ to Cr4+. The activation energy of Cr3+ oxidation determined by the Jander model was 2.7 ± 0.2 eV, which is in good correlation with the activation energy of oxygen diffusion in the YAG lattice.
