AT Crystals is a privately held Slovak deep‑tech company headquartered in Žilina, Slovakia, founded on March 22, 2013 (IČO: 47074051). Until mid‑2019, it operated under the name MGM Advanced Technology, s.r.o.
The company specializes in Horizontally Directed Crystallization (HDC), a proprietary method—developed with the University of Žilina—that enables production of ultra‑high‑purity, large‑dimension YAG and sapphire crystals (e.g., Yb:YAG, Nd:YAG, Ce:YAG) in slab/plate geometries. These offer up to 8.62× larger cooling surface areas compared to conventional formats, enabling superior thermal management, optical performance, and cutting-edge applications.
Typical crystal sizes now reach 200 × 350 × 35 mm (YAG) and 240 × 420 × 45 mm (sapphire), with plans to scale up to 500 × 1000 × 60 mm in the near future
